Party Trend: Food “Bar” Ideas

Lately, some of the most popular party planning ideas seem to center around the next “bar” idea. And no, I don’t just mean alcohol and beer…I mean food too! We’ve all seen the “candy bar” idea for kids parties and the ever popular “cookie bar” for favors, but what about some new ideas too?

For example, for my last Love Sweet Love Bridal Shower we put together a Mimosa Bar where our guests could choose one of two champagnes, juices, and fruits to add to make their cocktail tasty. BUT there are so many other fun “bar” ideas out there lately, so here’s some inspiration for a fun and unique idea that’s sure to make your guests happy!

This party featured on the Inspired Bride features a “Spud Bar” where guests get to make their own potato creations. There were different toppings to choose from along with tatertots, baked potatoes, potato wedges, and more. This idea is a super fun idea for a sporting event or adult party.

What about a breakfast bar? Build your own pancakes anyone? I love this idea as seen on One Stylish Bride. Having guests be able to build their own pancake creations for a brunch or breakfast is such a great idea.

Jen at Tatertots and Jello put together a gorgeous PJ’s and Pancakes Party, which featured a Hot Chocolate Bar AND a Pancake Bar too. This party is a great idea for kids of all ages!! They’ll have so much fun picking out their goodies and toppings!

More breakfast bar ideas as seen on Hostess with the Mostess…I love the idea of a donut bar, but this breakfast bar is amazing with little mini french toast cups, donut trees, fruit cups, bacon skewers, and much more.

What’s more fun than an all inclusive hamburger/slider bar? Swanky:Chic:Fete shows us how you can incorporate this fun bar idea into even a baby shower!

Remember this party last year that we provided printables for with Buckets of Grace? She had an ice cream sundae/root beer float bar at her party, complete with tons of different toppings and sweets available sure to satisfy ANY sweet tooth!

I adore this idea of a DIY Fruit Pizza Bar from Life {Sweet} Life that recently surfaced on Pinterest!

And of course, the healthy fruit and veggie bar as featured on Apartment Therapy looks gorgeous and healthy at the same time.

There are so many “bar” ideas out there for you to explore and surprise your guests with, so use your creativity next time you throw a party. Instead of just throwing condiments out, put together your sandwiches or sliders and set condiments out in small containers/platters to create a sandwich bar…or make some cupcakes of different flavors and allow your guests to make their own cupcakes with icing and topping choices. The possibilities are endless and your guests will enjoy being able to make their food extra special.

Do you have any “bar” food ideas that you’ve used before? Share them with us!! :)
