Hi Dimpleprints readers! I’m Megan from Coffee Cups and Crayons and I am so excited to be a Dimpleprints contributor! I have been a Dimpleprints customer for years you may have even seen my son’s pirate party featured here last spring. I have tons of fun party ideas to share with all of you this year and can’t wait to get started.
I love Carli’s Let it Snow party package and thought it would be fun to share a cute snowman party favor with you all.
The snowman favor is actually really easy to make. First you need to make a batch of white, sparkly play dough. I love this gluten free play dough recipe from The Imagination Tree, all you need is corn starch, salt, oil, water, and glitter. One batch of this play dough makes enough for one pint jar snowman, this would be the perfect amount to give to one family.
After the play dough was ready I painted the jars to look like snowman faces. I used black acrylic paint because that’s what I had at home, but if you don’t want the paint to start to chip off use glass paint instead. I painted the eyes with the tip of a fat round paint brush and dotted the mouth with the eraser end of a pencil. The nose is just a piece of orange foam that is hot glued on.
After I put the play dough in the jar and screwed on the lid I made a top hat for the snowman using paper that comes with the Let it Snow package.
I think the snowman play dough jar is more than enough for a party favor, but if you want to add even more fun you can add some play dough accessories! Here is an assortment of snowman parts my kids got from one of my friends to make play dough snowmen with. They would be the perfect addition to the white play dough.
I stuck a bunch of the accessories in a small cellophane bag and tied them with one of the Let it Snow favor tags. You could even use this for a party activity at a winter themed party or event. Just set out the snowman jars filled with white play dough with a bunch of snowman accessories and let the kids build away.
I had so much fun sharing a party idea with you today and can’t wait to be back again next month!
