Sweet and Salty Caramel Brownies

Hey everyone, it`s Candace here from Candy and Cake Sugar Designs  sharing my first post with you this month!  I am so honored to be able to share some of my favorite recipes and ideas with all of you Dimpleprints readers and fans!  Today I am sharing with you all my sweet and salty caramel brownies with my favorite autumnal colors and I thought suited the sweater weather.
Sweet and Salty Caramel Brownies
For these scrumptious brownies you will need
1 cup reese`s pieces
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
2/3 cups all purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
Caramel Drizzle
50 unwrapped caramels
3 tbsp evaporated milk
Heat oven to 350 degrees.  Mix sugar and butter, vanilla and eggs.  Stir in the flour, baking powder and salt.  Gently mix in half of the reese’s pieces and reserve the other 1/2 cup to sprinkle on top of brownies.  Spread the brownie batter into a greased square 8 inch baking pan.  Sprinkle the reserved 1/2 cup of reese’s pieces on top of the brownie batter in pan.  Bake for 25 minutes or until wooden toothpick inserted into batter comes out clean.  Let cool.
Once the brownies are cool, heat caramels and milk in a saucepan on the stove over low heat stirring until melted and smooth and creamy or for a shortcut in the microwave heat at intervels of 30 seconds and stir after each interval until smooth and melted.  Let cool a few minutes and then drizzle over the brownies.  Let cool and then cut into squares.
Tip:  If you have any remaining caramel sauce you can always make a few caramel apples which is what I did..couldn’t resist!
